Educate And Inform With Domestic Violence DVDs And Videos

Domestic Violence Dvd
Viewing a domestic violence DVD may not be top on our priority list, but if well made and educational, they may help to teach how to properly care for children, especially young ones.
Sadly, it is everywhere, and it could be going on in the house next to you and you would never know it. Victims often remain quiet because they are convinced that to speak out would mean someone else would get hurt or that they deserve to be treated as they are. Adults may not feel like the have a choice to leave a violent situation, but they do. Children, however, do not have that choice. Domestic violence and children is something you should think about.

When children are involved in such situations, they can be scared for life, even when the adults in the home do not think to touch them. In cases of domestic violence and children, the children are hurt by what they see and hear around them even if they are away from what is going on. Do not assume they can not hear things, feel the pain of the beaten parent, and that this is not something that they are going to carry with them through life. They may learn to be timid, or even worse, they may learn that it is okay to hit another person to control them.

Children learn what they live. You may have heard that saying and there is a very good reason why that is. When they see someone who claims to love someone else hit that person, they think that this is just the way that it is supposed to be. They do not know any better and they do not have any other examples to go by. They may learn differently when they grow up, but by then the effects of domestic violence and children are too ingrained in who they are. They may not be able to change what they have learned from years of exposure.

If you suspect that there is a situation involving domestic violence and children going on near you, do not assume that it is none of your business. If you see anything that you believe means something is going on, you have to say something to someone. You should never assume that violence is going on just from something you heard, but there is always some truth in anything. Instead, if you see something that you can say is domestic violence, you should report it immediately, and when you do, mention that children are in the household if that is the case.

When domestic violence dvd viewing is something you wish to inform your family about, make sure the DVD or video is in good taste.  Even if children in reality are never touched, they are watching someone hurt you, and that is painful for them and can damage them for life. You should take care of yourself and get out of the situation, and that goes double if you have kids. Find information on how to do it safely and where you can go for help when you get out for the sake of your children and yourself.
